2025 Spring/Summer Travel Team

Today we opened registration for 2025 Travel Baseball. Below is more information on the process and what Travel Softball consists of for 2025.

All players that participate in the travel program in 8U and 12U, will also need to participate in our recreational program offering for their age group and register for our spring recreational season which will open in January 2025*.  12U will be dependent on middle school and/or number of recreational registrations in spring, TBD.

• Travel Rules and Try Out Process document is available under Forms section on the Metuchen Baseball and Softball site.

• If your child is planning on playing, please read the document to get familiar with the process.

• To indicate your intent to try out, please register by 10.30.24 on. Tryouts will occur sometime between 11/11 and 11/15, timing by division TBD. 

• We will be looking to fill 1 Team per Age Group as follows:

o 12U – Birthdate between 05/01/12 and 04/30/13

o 11U – Birthdate between 05/01/13 and 04/30/14

o 10U – Birthdate between 05/01/14 and 04/30/15

o 09U – Birthdate between 05/01/15 and 04/30/16

o 08U – Birthdate between 05/01/16 and 04/30/17

Commitment to Spring/Summer Travel

• Travel is for players looking for competitive play that goes beyond the recreational program.

• Expectation for Spring/Summer is that Metuchen Travel Baseball would be your primary commitment over other teams.

• Travel has a three-part commitment:

-Winter Indoor Training (1 time per week)

-Spring: -Varies between leagues and tournaments determined by managers. Games are typically on Sunday

-Summer:  Parkway – Weeknight league + 1-3 Weekend Tournaments as determined by managers.

• Travel teams will be comprised of no less than 10 and no more than 15 players, with ideal squad size at 12. It is not automatic that a player makes a team if there are not enough spots or if the skill level is not ready for Spring/Summer travel programs.

During signups/tryouts, a choice is requested for what team your player should be considered for:

Fees: Fees range dependent on team schedule, number of players on team, cost of winter training. In addition, teams have found it helpful to bring in outside trainers or attend clinics to develop new skills and will look for additional ways to support the cost.
